Drink Tea Outside wins "Best Overall Performance Award"

Drink Tea Outside wins the "Best Overall Performance Award" in the WildSound Film Festival at the National Film Board cinema in Toronto!!!

This was a feedback film festival which means that the audience gives thier reaction to the film. And was it a reaction!! The discussion about Drink Tea Outside went on for about 20 minutes if not more, and there was a LOT of very different opinions. Filmmakers were supposed to stay annonymous to allow the audience to speak their mind. Ofcourse I got up and grabbed the mic @ the end anyways, but they cut this part out...

So here is a 2 part youtube video of the audience's reaction!

The film's in the WILDsound Film Festival!! =D

Drink Tea Outside was selected to be featured at the WILDsound Film Fetival on August 29th @ the National Film Board Cinema in Toronto! This will be the 1st official film festival that my film will be screened at. The best part about the whole thing is that it is a "feedback" festival, meaning there will be lots of discussion, and finally I will hear what people think about this thing.

The photo above is from the "greenlight" blog, about Toronto filmmakers, and the film industry in general, they posted this today on their website.

If you are on Facebook, click here to join the official event page. Almost 2000 people have been invited already.

Photos from the Drink Tea Outside Screening at Bloor Cinema

The photos are now up, from the EEIFA "Russian Night Out" event, where my film was screened at Bloor Cinema! :) Thanks to those who showed up, and I hope everyone had a good time.

In the photo above: Victor Rusin, and I are posing in front of the "Russian Night Out" poster before the event starts. Victor is one of my best friends, and also the sound engineer, co-editor of the film, and he also composed some of the soundtracks for the film! (click his name!)

Drink Tea Outside @ Bloor Cinema on May 22nd 2009

The Eastern European Independant Filmmaker Alliance organization (E.E.I.F.A) has selected my film: Drink Tea Outside to be one of the films they will screen at Bloor Cinema in Toronto on May 22nd.

I'm very excited about this because I was told that there is a lot of media, and cultural, political representatives coming out to the event, but mostly the fact that more people will watch this film is very COOL!!

Also it happens to be on Andrey Kislitsin's Birthday!! He is the lead, and co-writter/co-producer of the film.

Anyone coming out to see this film??
